Meet John B., our I Am Behemoth for the month of March. John has made some incredible progress in his time with us and it has been inspiring to see! You may find him showing up 90 minutes early for class, or working on his classic Chevy Pick-Up in his free time, but no matter what he is doing he is passionate and enthusiastic about it and we love having his positive energy around the gym!! Read more about John below!
-Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself or something that would surprise us.
I have been married to my wonderful wife for 35 years (she saved me!), and we are blessed with two fine adult children. No grandchildren, yet, but we can always hope and pray. “Faith, Family, and Friends First” is a favorite expression of mine. Something surprising… during my High School years I was a bit of a head banging KISS freak. Watch the movie “Dazed and Confused”...I think they wrote it about my friends and I!
-How and when were you introduced to Behemoth?
The Box I originally started at was closing, and the Owner suggested Behemoth because he thought I would be a “good fit”. I did a drop in, and was hooked.
-What are you most proud of, physically, mentally or both since beginning with us?
I feel I have technically improved a great deal with my lifts, and I have had numerous PR's. I could not have done it without the great coaching.
I enjoy all of the athletes I have met (hope to meet more), and I cannot say enough about the coaching we receive…It is second to none….Second to none!
-What next? What are you excited about pursuing here in the future?
I managed a “Half Murph” last year, and I am planning to complete a Full Murph (Sorry, not with a plate carrier!) this year.
