Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself? Maybe something that would surprise us :)

I’m originally from the small town of Erie, PA - where it snows 100+ inches a year! Back in that small lakeside town, I got into anime and manga. 2007 is when I started cosplay! I sewed my first costume with my mom on her old sewing machine, my dad helped me with the woodworking to make my sword, and the pink Party City hair color spray accidentally turned my hair salmon pink for real. (It didn’t wash out as the bottle promised haha!) It’s safe to say that in all these years I’ve gotten a lot better!

I moved to Texas with my partner in 2015 - where I settled into a job in graphic design (and now enjoy no longer having to scrape ice off my car 4 months out of the year) I’ve always loved the arts, reading, and playing TTRGs.

How long have you been a Behemoth member and how did you hear about us?

It’s been a little over 3 years now! Wow - time sure flies!

I will always remember that I was out with a friend that went to Behemoth and we were shopping for a picnic. When trying to lift a watermelon out of the cart and into her trunk...I couldn’t! I seriously couldn’t even lift a watermelon out of a shopping cart! That was the moment that I knew I had to go to a gym - and I’m SO glad that I found Behemoth!

How has being apart of Behemoth impacted your life? What are some of your proudest accomplishments since starting with us? (this can be physical, mental, emotional, don’t just think inside the gym, this can be anything you truly feel great about!)

I can now lift more than a watermelon!! A lot more than a watermelon really! I have more energy than I did before and I’ve grown to love myself!

It also has given me the structure that I crave. It’s easy for me to fall into bad habits if I don’t have a schedule to follow!

Talk a little bit about your journey, who were you or what were you struggling with before starting with Behemoth and who are you now since being apart of this gym culture and community?

Joining Behemoth was my first step towards becoming the me that I’ve always wanted to be. I’ve made a lot of strides and I’m really proud of where I am now! The coaches have all been so helpful and the community as a whole is so uplifting, I always feel like I’m crushing my goals. I wish I could show teenage me who I’d be today.

What is your favorite part about Behemoth and what keeps you coming back?

Accountability for sure. I feel like everyone is looking out for me and that always keeps me coming back! And the whole community - being in a place that is so positive has done wonders for my mental health as well as my physical health!

What is one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out with Behemoth or maybe hesitant in starting out?

It’s never too late to start! And it’s always the right time to start! I couldn’t even lift a watermelon 3 years ago and now I can deadlift my own body weight, I would have never believed that I could have made it this far if not for Behemoth!
